Cicada is a chamber music ensemble from Taiwan, formed in 2009. The group takes its name from the cicada insect — a creature whose long underground life gives way to a brief, resonant song above ground. Led by composer Jesy Chiang (江致潔), Cicada crafts instrumental works that blend classical chamber traditions with a distinctly Taiwanese sensibility.

The ensemble's music often draws inspiration from the natural landscapes of Taiwan: its coasts, forests, mountains, and the surrounding sea. Across a discography spanning EPs and full-length albums released between 2010 and 2019, Cicada has developed a voice that is at once delicate and cinematic, intimate and expansive.
